Some love stories are meant to be celebrated in the most peaceful, tucked-away places, and Roxy & Joseph’s elopement on Goat Island, South Carolina, was nothing short of magical. With their little family by their side, they exchanged vows in one of the most secluded and breathtaking locations, surrounded by nothing but the sound of lapping waves and the rustling marsh grass.
Goat Island is a hidden gem off the coast of Charleston—only accessible by boat, making it the perfect setting for a truly intimate elopement. With the help of Goat Island Gatherings and Barrier Island Eco Tours, Roxy & Joseph’s day was filled with coastal charm, adventure, and heartfelt moments.
As they arrived by boat, the couple was greeted by the untouched beauty of the island. The salty breeze, the golden-hour light filtering through the trees, and the feeling of being completely present with their loved ones set the tone for a day that felt just right—relaxed, authentic, and overflowing with love.

The ceremony was simple yet deeply meaningful. Standing beneath a canopy of windswept oaks and palmettos, Roxy & Joseph shared their vows as their little ones—Mathew, Owen, Hendrix, and August—watched with wonder. Seeing their parents commit to forever in such a special place made the moment even more profound, reminding them that love is about adventure, family, and creating memories together.

After the ceremony, we explored the island together, capturing portraits that reflected their adventurous spirits. From barefoot strolls along the shoreline to quiet moments on the dock, every frame told the story of a couple who chose connection and experience over convention. The kids played in the sand, searched for seashells, and giggled as the waves rolled in—adding a joyful, carefree energy to the day.

Eloping doesn’t mean skipping the celebration. Roxy & Joseph toasted their new chapter with a island oyster roast, complete with fresh Lowcountry fare and a sunset that painted the sky in hues of pink and gold. With Bill Wilson and friends playing music, the kids joined in, laughing and dancing as they soaked in the beauty of their surroundings. It was the perfect way to celebrate—not just the love between Roxy & Joseph, but the bond they share as a family.

If you’re dreaming of an intimate, adventure-filled wedding day that’s all about you, Goat Island might just be the perfect spot. Whether it’s a romantic boat ride to your vows or a quiet evening under the stars, I’d love to help bring your vision to life.
